Most modern helicopters use Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF), commonly known as Jet A-1. It is a high-quality aviation fuel designed specifically for turbine engines, ensuring safe and efficient performance.

Any individual can become a commercial helicopter pilot by completing proper training from any flying club ( Like  Mauna Loa Helicopters USA , Starlite Aviation Group South Africa ...) and obtaining a Commercial Pilot License (Helicopter) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This includes ground training, flying hours, and passing required exams.

To start your journey, you must:

  • Be at least 17 years old (for training)
  • Have completed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics
  • Be medically fit as per DGCA standards

The total cost typically ranges between ₹75 lakh to ₹90 lakh, depending on the flying school, helicopter type, and training duration.

Candidates must pass Class 2 and Class 1 medical examinations approved by DGCA to ensure physical and mental fitness for flying.
